An annual, competitive international environmental film festival showcasing and rewarding the best in new environmental films and filmmaking from around the globe. Awards for feature, short and ultrashort length films, environmental sustainability, science communication and NZ Emerging Talent. Plus youth ultrashort film competition.

Submit your environmental film to the competition. Rolling submissions - deadline for 2013 festival is 30 Jan. Contact director@reelearth.org.nz for details.

The weeklong festival includes an orgy of environmental film, filmmaker networking, Q&A sessions, panel discussions, optional (and rewarding) school visits. Meet other filmmakers from around the globe, and around New Zealand. Meet leading environmentalists and scientists. Find out more about burning environmental issues

Plus an annual symposium: 2013 theme is WATER.

Symposium events include talks by internationally reknowned scientists; panel discussions on indigenous peoples and water; farming and water and more.

Also featuring:
Our Far South: Photography exhibition of the South Sea and Antartic marine life and environment
Te Awa: River Project(ion) experimental collaborative film curated by local multimedia artists and projected onto buildings during the festival.
