BYOB Wellington

Sat 2 Mar 2013 to Sat 2 Mar 2013
BYOB is like a potluck dinner of pixels and light, a flash mob of projectors and performance art...
Event type:
The Circus Hub, 11 Hutchison Road, Newtown.
Open from 8pm until midnight.

BYOB (Bring Your Own Beamer) is an open source DIY event.

Artists collaborate over the course of an evening to create a mega, moving, breathing multi media beast. Its celebration of old and new media. Driven by the participants who bring their art, and amplified by the presence of an audience.

Prepare to be delighted and surprised as you, along with the organizers and participants, discover the hidden talent that Wellington holds. “It will only be through the process of registration that we will start to have any idea what this show will look like” - Raylene Beals. “Just like a pot luck dinner there is no doubt that there will be something for everyone”- Naomi Lamb.

BYOB is for anyone who is interested in moving image, projections, visual art, digital art, light, participatory art, and performance.

First initiated by Rafaël Rozendaal in 2010, BYOB is now an international movement. Over 80 BYOB events have taken place throughout the world so far. From New York, Berlin to Jerusalem, and now Wellington. BYOB Wellington is an event in which the participants can create their own show within the 2013 Fringe Festival program.
