After a recent successful premier at Elmwood Auditorium, NO Productions Theatre Collective (Nataliya Oryshchuk) brings Monster Wars, a joyful and adventurous theatre show, to Christchurch South.

The show will be performed at Hohepa Hall (23 Barrington Street) on 31 August at 2pm and 4pm. Monster Wars is a hilarious and spectacular tale with a touch of circus, which will delight young and old alike. It offers action, fantasy, sword-fighting, and unexpected twists and turns of the plot.

With eerie costumes created by the talented New Zealander Rachael Travaille (MonstrositiesNZ), the show stars two brilliant Colombian actors Natascha Diaz and Marlon Ortiz. It also features Christchurch circus performers Daniel Heaphy and Taryn Leathart. The soundscape is created by Jazz School graduate Tom Harris and the set design is crafted by Ailise O'Neill, a Fine Arts graduate from Belfast, Ireland. This independent Christchurch theatre group brings together creative people from all over the world: Ukraine, Colombia, Ireland and New Zealand.

"The idea of this show was born on a bleak autumn day" - says Nataliya Oryshchuk, the producer, director and writer of the show, - "We thought of joyous carnival street processions, masks, drums and strong flowing energy, and this is how the characters of Monster Wars sprung to life. We want to add a splash of colour and energy to the gloomy winter of post-earthquake Christchurch - and a kids’ show is the perfect form of theatre for this".

Tickets: $10.
