An introduction to a traditional Māori art form using a natural resource, harakeke. This weekend workshop covers the processes of harvesting, basic prepping techniques and treatment. Practice dyeing the harakeke to create some beautiful basics, as well as more intricate projects. Tikanga, history and te reo relevant to mahi raranga are also included, as the foundation to when mahi raranga is in practice.

Nathan Homestead is Manurewa's community arts centre. The historic Homestead was built in 1925 and is situated on nine acres of exquisite lawn and gardens. It has been kept in its original state and is a unique setting for all types of functions and occasions.
