Jo Tricker Glass Studio
Unit 5 oak Lane, Judea Industrial Estate, Judea Tauranga 3110
Bay of Plenty

Come and make a fused glass platter and experience the fun of kilnformed glass!   You will get to take home a rectangular platter which you have designed yourself, which you can then use for your own cheese and crackers or other gourmet delights!

This is a kilnforming glass experience, not glassblowing, and the technique is very different.    The wide variety of glass products allow for an extensive range of creativity that you will love!  The class is an introduction to fused glass making and is suitable for absolute beginners or those who have experience in other glass genres and want to try fusing.

Glass platter making is conducted in Jo's own 75 sq m studio in the Judea Industrial Estate.  The price stated is per person and the course fee covers all materials, use of equipment, and kiln firing time. Tea and coffee will also be provided. Limited to six people.

Jo is passionate about glass and has been glassmaking for 9 years.  She is proficient in fusing, casting and flameworking techniques.  Prior to glass making, Jo's background was in Medical Laboratory Technology, and English Language Teaching in the private sector, teaching English to those in the age range of 18 - 80 years.

"I am fascinated by glass - by its ability to transform itself from a solid to a liquid and back to a solid again! For me it is the endless fascination of where science and art meet."
