This is an art glass workshop that introduces you to glass fusing, glass slumping and glass carving.   In this workshop you will make two fused projects:  the first a fused and slumped plate;  the second a fused and textured bas relief or low relief carved panel.

In the first project you will learn how to cut sheet into strips; how to lay up your glass with small glass joins ready for firing, and how to slump your plate.

In the second project you will learn how to cut a design from ceramic fibre paper to carve texture into your glass.   Both projects will discuss the fusing and slumping cycles required for the different projects.

It is suitable for all levels of experience and limited to six people.  The price stated is per person and the course fee covers all materials, use of equipment, kiln firing time and the delivery of your last project if you are unable to make the one hour on the monday.  Morning tea will also be provided.

"I am fascinated by glass - by its ability to transform itself from a solid to a liquid and back to a solid again! For me it is the endless fascination of where science and art meet."
