WEDNESDAY JUNE 19th 7-30pm (Doors / Bar open 7pm)
Yes, it's a Wednesday !!

This is a fund raiser to help two young musicians go to a Jazz competition in Australia in July. Those of you who came to the screening of 'MAKING the GRADE' where we not only had a feature film but 30 minutes of young talent on the piano before the film started will remember one pianist Lucas Kewell (yes my youngest son!!) well, he and three friends have formed a jazz quartet, 'Toby and the Rest'  Four lads from Avondale college making music, sharing their talents, recently coming third in a Talent Quest. The quartet consists of brothers Maxwell Barrett (drums) and Toby Barrett (Saxophone) with Tyler Diprose on Double bass and Lucas Kewell on piano. The evening will consist of music from the quartet, original compositions from Lucas Kewell  solo piano and special guest, professional musician and music teacher, Hanna Wiskari-Griffiths on Saxophone.  We will also be screening a couple of short films, 'In the Key of Genius' about Derek Paravicini who inspired Lucas to play and a humourous short film featuring 'Mozart Group' PLUS Audio VisualChallenge where film will be played and musicians will impro to the images, just like the days of silent movies.

A night to open your ears and eyes...and marvel at the young talent that will be performing.
