Creative Arts Portfolio Reviews at Nathan Homestead
SHOW US YOUR STUFF!
Do you love exploring ideas, working with different materials, expressing yourself through art, design, photo or film? Are you interested in studying Design, Fine Arts or Māori Visual Arts?
Staff from Toi Rauwhārangi College of Creative Arts at Massey University Wellington are coming to South Auckland in June to see if you are ready to join us in 2020!
Staff will be available in several locations over three days, so choose the place and date that works best for you. The reviews take about 15 minutes, and there might be a little wait depending on numbers:
- Monday 24 June, 3 - 6pm Nathan Homestead: 70 Hill Rd, Manurewa, Auckland 2102
- Tuesday 25 June, 3 - 6pm Mangere Arts Centre: Corner Bader Drive and Orly Avenue, Mangere, Auckland 2022
- Wednesday 26 June, 3 - 6pm Otahuhu College: 47 -78 Mangere Rd, Otahuhu, Auckland 1062
Bring along some examples of your work. These can be in a folder or online and don’t need to be finished. You might make your own videos or clothes, design spaces or posters, photograph or draw, paint or print stuff. Bring it all along and show us what you’ve got.
Family or supportive friends are welcome to come along too. Our staff are very friendly and come with lots of information about our courses as well as possibly chocolate ….
Please register so we know who to expect. All interested students are welcome, whatever stage you are at and whatever the venue!

What can I bring into the event?
Bring along a range of work for us to look at, from work you might have done at school to creative projects you did outside of school or within your community. Here’s a list of examples (you don’t need to show us all of this, and it can include work you are still doing).
These can include printed copies of your work or online links or ideas explored in workbooks and folios
Mock-ups / 3D models
Graphic design work
Fashion / sewing / patterns / textiles
Developmental work, such as copies of workbook pages, journal or visual diary
Screen captures in the case of digital work
Links to original work (ie: blogs, Instagram, YouTube, Instagram, Sound Cloud, Pinterest, Vimeo, Facebook, ` Bandcamp)
Which event do I come to?
You only need to come to one event to meet us, so pick the venue that you can get to most easily or the date that works best with your other commitments. Everyone is welcome at the venues listed, even if you've never been to an arts centre or to a different school campus.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
There is no minimum age requirement but we are keen to meet creative types who are in years 12 or 13 at secondary school or looking for creative options as adult learners.
How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
If you have any questions or requests please contact
