Developed and toured by Rotorua Museum, AEIOU explores the Māori language with the aid of art.

A Rotorua-based artist, Kereama Taepa (Te Arawa and Te Āti Awa) has designed the fifteen letters of the Māori alphabet which form the framework for the exhibition.  These eye-catching, imaginative leeters incorporate Māori design elements and feature items beginning with that letter of the alphabet.  These are then teamed up with adiverse mix of objects and art pieces from the collections of Rotorua Museum and Ashburton Art Gallery.  From Aotearoa (New Zealand) to whare (house), and ngata (snail) to hōiho (horse), visitors will have fun exploring this eclectic mix of items from a different perspective.
