Voice Masterclass with Keely Eastley
PŪKENGA TOI LAUNCHES IN JANAURY 2020 AS PART OF THE CELEBRATIONS MARKING THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF TE KURA TOI WHAKAARI.
The first in this series will be a Voice Masterclass conducted by Keely Eastley, a US based Kristin Linklater Designated voice practitioner and teacher currently teaching at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Keely was also a former Head of Voice and Movement at Toi Whakaari in the 1990s.
This course is designed specifically for trained actors and industry professionals. Keely will focus on breath for connection (to self and text) as well as increasing capacity, agility and flexibility. Participants will stretch into upper resonators and the energies alive in those frequencies of the human voice, exploring how it clarifies meaning, enlivens language and deepens personal connection to their text. Each person will need a short piece of text from either a play, sonnet or poem.
