Tutor: Kathryn Burnett
Kathryn is an award-winning screenwriter and playwright who has worked in the NZ television/film industry for over 20 years. She runs a series of inspiring and dynamic writing workshops under the Beginner's Guide Writing Workshops banner. She is a published author, an award-winning columnist and runs the popular Writing Room. She has significant television and film credits and has developed numerous television series for NZ’s major production companies. Her most recently produced TV projects include – “Fresh Eggs,” “The Sounds” and “The Cul de Sac.” She is also on the development team for an HBO sci-fi series and has a comedy series in development with Warner Brothers.

Q: Who is this event for?
A: Any writers with a project or an idea. It doesn't matter if you're a beginner or a pro. Or what you are writing.
Q: Is this a creative writing workshop?
A: No, there will be writing but it isn't a workshop as such.
Q: Does it matter what type of project I'm writing?
A: Nope - it can be anything from a bunch of haiku to a screenplay to an epic novel - it's entirely up to you.
Q: Will I have to share my work?
Q: What should I bring?
A: Your laptop and pen & paper.
Q: Tell me about the morning tea break?
A: We'll be enjoying a leisurely and delicious morning tea break which will give you a chance to meet with other writers.
