Treat yourself to 2 days of creative, spontaneous and addictive monoprinting magic! Monoprinting is a form of printmaking that has lines or images that can only be made once, unlike most printmaking, which allows for multiple originals. There are many different techniques of mono-printing, and this workshop will focus on low-tech options using Gelli Plates, plus other ‘plate’ materials all using hand printing (no press needed).

Monoprinting is a great way to create finished prints, or works on paper that mix print and paint, trial ideas for paintings and create interesting textures and patterns for collage work. On Saturday participants will explore a range of different monoprinting and layering techniques, creating a large number of prints. After a group discussion on Sunday morning, participants will select one of their favourite techniques and work towards creating a finished artwork, whether it’s a print, mixed media work, or a collage.

As part of the workshop fee you get a 5 x 7 inch Gelli plate to use and take home to continue your printmaking journey.
