Nicolas Donati - Overdose
Since leaving his native Italy, Donati has been documenting his travels, with a particular focus on urbanisation and featuring unique and creative interpretations of architectural structures. This narrative is told through the lens of an anonymous passer-by who is simultaneously trapped and in awe. This feeling is enhanced by a grand sense of scale. The buildings dwarf the viewer. Donati’s use of light and shadow around the structures also serves to make the viewer feel small. “Overdose” is an attempt to stop people in their tracks. To demand the viewer to pay attention to the bigger picture outside of their own daily routine.
