A Documentary Festival Like No Other.
Celebrating its 16th anniversary, the Oscar-qualifying Doc Edge Festival is back in theatres. Connecting film lovers with 83 of the very best documentaries from NZ and around the globe, the festival continues to offer a must-watch programme of world-class cinema.
In Auckland, SkyCity Theatre is the only place to see 18 of the festival features and 3 Doc Edge Originals, between Thursday 3 and Monday 7 June and The Civic is the only place to see 14 of the festival features between Thursday 10 and Sunday 13 June
In Wellington, The Roxy is the only place to screen all 32 features between Thursday 17 and Sunday 27 June.
The fourth venue is online nationwide with 81 of the festival's short and feature films available between Friday 4 June and Sunday 11 July.
Featuring daring voyages, political thrillers, heart-warming personal tales, eccentric character studies and more, there is something for everyone.
Theatre audiences will enjoy live Q&As with filmmakers, and entertainment including virtual and augmented reality exhibitions, and live performances. When planning your day out, make sure you allow time to enjoy everything the Festival Village has on offer.
Virtual audiences will also enjoy scheduled live Q&As with filmmakers as well as recorded Q&As + performances from the theatres.
