A celebration of disability, creativity and culture.

Alter State is a major arts and disability festival engaging artists and audiences from Australia and Aotearoa (New Zealand). Foundation artists Joshua Pether, Rodney Bell and Carly Findlay OAM have helped develop Alter State.

In November 2021, Alter State will launch with a free digital program. This online program includes a series of talks, performances and workshops to encourage audiences to connect with Deaf and Disabled artists and share their stories.

The Alter State digital launch week will take place from 9 – 13 Nov 2021. All events are free and are in AEDT. Registration is required for all events.

The inaugural Alter State festival is planned for late 2022.

“We need a space for artists to come together, not only to make art about disability but to be present, to be visible, to represent” – Carly Findlay OAM, Alter State Foundation Artist
