The Christchurch chapter of Interpretation Network New Zealand warmly invites INNZ members and GLAM sector colleagues to join us for an evening of discovery hosted by Te Whare Waiutuutu Kate Sheppard House.

Opened less than a year ago in December 2020, Te Whare Waiutuutu Kate Sheppard House presents a stimulating modern exploration of Kate Sheppard’s inspiring story and the legacy of the women’s suffrage movement in New Zealand. The house is proudly cared for by Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga.

The evening begins with the visitor experience team hosting a tour of the house and the opportunity to explore the garden. Later, join Christine Whybrew, Manager of Heritage Assets South at Heritage New Zealand as she shares insight into the interpretation development and delivery journey.

The ticket price of $25 includes a guided tour of the house and garden, an exclusive interpretation presentation, and networking opportunities accompanied by light refreshments. Please advise any dietary and access requirements while booking.

Bus No. 100 and 120 both have stops nearby on Clyde Road. Free parking is available on-street or in the Canterbury University Clyde car park (located on Arts Road) after 5pm. Please contact Te Whare Waiutuutu Kate Sheppard House prior to booking if you require accessible parking.
