Taking inspiration from a favourite childhood story The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams.

Velveteen Paintings features mix media works on canvas, which use recycled materials and are machine stitched and stretched onto black velveteen. Keen works intuitively, being sensitive to the precarious and fragile nature of existence, her relationships with others and her connection with the natural world. Keen’s aim is that the work reflects how human vulnerability can prompt change and motivate us to become more authentic versions of ourselves.
