Eclect Them All will help bring cohesion and focus to the diverse emerging arts community of central Auckland. As the title suggests, the festival will promote inclusion and participation by both artists and audience.
The opening night on Tuesday the 24th of February commences at 6pm showcasing performance, live music, visual arts, installation and video projection. These works will be shown at the Gully Lounge, Paradise Bar and within the arcade itself.
A short film and video programme will screen on Wednesday the 25th at 8pm at the Paradise Bar, on the first floor of St Kevin's Arcade. The festival party on Thursday the 26th will focus on live music, djs and vjs with acts commencing 8pm at the Paradise Bar.
The exhibition and events will have an accompanying catalogue that will function as both documentation and exhibition of work in print. As a limited edition of 100, the catalogue will be packaged as a collectable artwork of memorabilia.
Eclect Them All will see St Kevins Arcade become a hive of activity. Check www.eclective.org.nz for details.
The Eclective is an artist run collective. As a community organisation our primary function is to exhibit, promote, and further develop locally based visual arts and new media work within Auckland city.
The Eclective aims to make new and innovative work more accessible to a wider audience and thus provide support for experimental artists. We will bring exposure to art practices that are multi-faceted in form, use a hybrid of media and that are resonant of our current cultural diversity.
The Eclective functions as a network, unifying and linking scattered artistic communities and individuals. We aim to expand the website beyond an exhibition space, providing access to references and information on new media events and to create a support network for artists and their audience.
