The Art Box is a public art project in the form of a 1m3 perspex box, within which artists install works in a range of media. The Art Box can be relocated to public locations within Wellington City, thereby producing a nomadic itinerary of site-oriented installations.

The Art Box is a public art project in the form of a 1m3 perspex box, within which artists install works in a range of media. The Art Box can be relocated to public locations within Wellington City, thereby producing a nomadic itinerary of site-oriented installations.
Proposals need to discuss the conceptual aspects of the proposed artwork, how the artwork reflects an engagement with public art and the physical aspects of the work in relation to the proposed site. Experimental ideas that critique traditional means of display are encouraged, as are works that respond imaginatively to the premise of the Art Box.
