I am largely self-taught and have expanded my knowledge through artist workshops, studying and
experimenting. Over time I have developed my own style and technique in oils. I use an oil
medium to create different effects and draw into, scrape and shape the paint with various tools to
reveal the layers below. Expressing myself is often as much about applying the paint as it is

I am an active member of the Khandallah Art Group and the New Zealand
Academy of Fine Art, my work is exhibited at various galleries and art shows. I have work held in
private collections throughout New Zealand and internationally.
Animals are a favourite subject with New Zealand bird life featuring predominantly. The ever
changing skies over Wellington also inspire me, and in many of my landscapes the sky takes up most
of the canvas.
