The Documentary New Zealand Trust (Doc Edge) is a not-for-profit charitable organisation based in Auckland which was founded in 2004.
Doc Edge's mission is to lead and inspire the creative, business and wider communities to develop and celebrate documentary stories.
Doc Edge's vision is to create healthy audience appreciation for documentary and make New Zealand a documentary destination on the world stage.
Doc Edge runs activities throughout the year including the Doc Edge Festival, Doc Edge Forum, Doc Edge Pitch, Docs Edge Schools, Doc Edge Talks, Doc Edge Exhibition and Doc Edge Clinics.
Doc Edge Festival, an Academy Award® qualifying festival, New Zealand's only and Australasia's premiere international competitive documentary film festival held annually in Auckland and Wellington. It showcases the very best documentary films from New Zealand and around the World. The Festival includes Film Awards, a Schools programme, Talks, Exhibition and more.
Doc Edge Forum is the leading screen industry conference held during Doc Edge Festival. The Forum brings together local and international film, TV and other media to explore developments, funding and add value for participants. It includes seminars, panels, masterclasses, networking opportunities and Doc Edge Pitch, a documentary pitching forum for new short and short, feature festival films and television series.
Doc Edge Exhibition is a showcase of digital interactive storytelling projects featuring top international and local VR, AR, installations, and digital stories curated for audiences to experience.
