Facets of Five
Combining Elegance and Technical Innovation, Form Gallery presents ‘Facets of Five’; New Jewellery by five Sydenham based Jewellers. This show will present the newest collection of works by Elfi Spiewack, Jeremy Leeming, Koji Miyazaki, Ailish Roughan and Winnie Chin. Whilst varying in style and influence, these five artists come together to showcase their work in Form Gallery’s first group jewellery exhibition of the year.
Long fascinated by nature and its ability to create unique forms. Ventifacts have provided Jeremy Leeming an inspirational starting point, his newest collection endeavouring to explore similar shapes through the use of silver and stone.
Koji Miyazaki on the other hand has drawn his Influence for this collection from his Japanese heritage, paying particular attention to the Obijime (decorative rope attached to an obi) and its representational qualities; continuity, beauty and functionality all being present.
The declining bee population has provided inspiration for Ailish Roughan, her art providing a unique outlet to explore and bring attention to this important environmental issue. Bee based imagery and the faceted hexagon being depicted via the use of silver and precious stones.
And finally, with the warmer weather and impending spring, Winnie Chin has chosen to draw her inspiration from the fruit dissemination, her pieces showcasing both the inner core structure and the outer Pericarp simultaneously.
‘Facets of Five’ will be opening on the night of the 4th of November from 5:30 – 7:00pm, and will running until the 27th of November.
