Chess Countess is the alias of Auckland based singer-songwriter Tamsyn Miller. Miller announced herself as Chess Countess in 2010, competing in The University of Auckland's Songwriter of the Year competition and reaching the final. Her stunning debut EP 'Who Is Chess Countess?' is a roller-coaster ride, beginning with synth-driven hip-hop opener 'Play The Game' and finishing with orchestral-epic 'Silent Hills'.

The EP is the culmination of her studies at The University of Auckland where she completed a Bachelor of Music degree majoring in Popular Music. The six-track set showcases Miller's prodigious song writing talent and uninhibited blend of styles and genres, borrowing from pop, rock, dance, r&b, hip-hop and classical. Production duties were shared three tracks apiece by Jason Hole and Andrew Brereton.
