Flourish II by Meghan Geliza
“FLOURISH II” – Meghan Geliza
The Universe, in all of its infinite manifestations, tell the same story, hold the same structure, have similar forces that bind it. Meghan is currently exploring concepts of oneness, abundance and connection; looking at inherent patterns within nature as a way to express humans’ inherent connection and fundamental similarities with each other. Flourishing, primordial, animated. The fragments and the wholeness of life—and of ourselves, is being explored in this piece.
**For sale from the exhibition is this painting by Meghan that measures 120cm x 120cm, painted with acrylic on wood. **
Meghan Geliza’s large-scale paintings on wood are of worlds swirling in explosive colour, referencing the universe, the metaphysical and the whimsical. She’s currently interested in congealing the abstract and the surreal in her practice. Her work is driven by connection, sacred geometry and resonance. The inherent similarities in pattern found on various aspects of the universe - from the micro-cellular, to ecosystems, and beyond our own star system - is the crux of her current body of work. Doing art full-time, she’s worked on exhibits & commissions from NZ and internationally. Her work has manifested as large scale panel paintings, skate decks, jewellery, murals and projections on live theatre and performance.
