Hono for rangatahi Maori
On September 14 2012, a team of rangatahi Maori got together to shoot a short documentary ...using mobile phones.
They were invited to make two films. One of the performers at Smokefree Pacifica Beats and the other of what they did while they were there.
This video is how their day at Smokefree Pacifica Beats panned out.
The project is called Hono [a kupu Maori that can be translated to mean 'to connect'] and invites rangatahi to connect more meaningfully and relevantly with their communities using digital tools - in this case cellphones.
This project is delivered by The Big Idea and Youth Performance Trust.
It is made possible with funding from SkyCity Auckland Community Trust and the support of MINA [Mobile Innovation Network Aotearoa], Skinny and AUT Te Ara Poutama.
