KICKING CULTURE OFF THE STREETS
At The Big Idea we have heard today that Ponsonby Road has lost another colourful institution thanks to a mean-spirited, anonymous killjoy.
After over forty years of contributing to the collective social life and eclectic ambience of Ponsonby Road Peter Rogers, proprietor of Real Time, has been threatened with prosecution if he continues with his salon on the street.
Many have enjoyed the sight of their longtime shopkeeper, soft on the inside, Peter Rogers benignly “breaching the peace” with his wonderfully eccentric shop display and his socially inclusive outdoor salon.
Peter Roger’s street side salon is part of our community and streetscape. Those that bought this to our attention love what Peter does and request the complainant to withdraw the complaint so that all passersby can see Peter Rogers in his usual place and know some things never change and that all is right with the world.
If you want to support Peter and add your name to those who care please share this post via the social media icons on the left-hand margin of this webpage, and then email Marilyn Sainty firstname.lastname@example.org to let her know she has your backing!
