Enjoy Public Art Gallery and the Enjoy Trust announces changes to our governance board, as we farewell longstanding Chair Ann Shelton and welcome Melanie Oliver and Bridget Reweti as our new Tia Tuarua | Co-chairs.

Ann Shelton has stepped down after a decade of service as an Enjoy Trust board member since 2008, Co-chair from 2010-2012 and Chair from 2012–2018. During this time Enjoy has developed into a capable, secure and future-focused organisation. Enjoy’s Staff and Board would like to thank Ann for her dedication, thousands of volunteer hours and commitment to the organisation over the past ten years. The service Ann has given to the wider contemporary art community in this role has been substantial, as has her advocacy for emerging artists and arts professionals in Aotearoa.

Melanie Oliver, currently Senior Curator at The Dowse Art Museum, and Bridget Reweti, an artist and independent curator, are regular collaborators and colleagues. Together, they have also climbed mountains in the Swiss Alps and an active volcano in the Indonesian Ring of Fire. These kinds of challenges have put them in good compatible steed to steer the helm of the Enjoy Trust Board. They join Enjoy’s Staff and current Enjoy Trustees, Bruce E. Phillips, Essi Airisniemi, Herbert Bartley, Kate Ricketts, and Sonya Lacey in supporting contemporary art practice in Te Whanganui-a-Tara and further afield.
