Calling ALL New Zealand Galleries !

New Zealand galleries are urged to participate in the Arts Economics global dealer survey that provides critical statistics for the international art trade.

Dr Clare McAndrew, founder of Arts Economics, has been commissioned by Art Basel and UBS to carry out a survey on the international art market in 2019. This annual report will be published in early 2020 and will represent the most authoritative and comprehensive data on the global art market available. It provides important benchmark statistics for the industry, media and collectors, as well as being used for important political lobbying to further the aims of dealers and the art trade.

A critical input into these reports is an annual survey of dealers and galleries around the world and New Zealand is currently very under-represented in this research.

In appreciation of the time and effort it can take to complete these questionnaires, this year’s survey has been reduced in length and simplified, and should take around 15 minutes to complete. You can also download a pdf of your response at the end of the survey. Your participation plays a vital part in ensuring that the substantial role played by dealers in the international art market is properly recognized. To take part in the survey, please click on the button below and fill out the questionnaire before December 15.

Please note that the survey is strictly confidential and anonymous. Answers will be combined with those of other dealers and used only for research purposes by Arts Economics only. All participants will be entitled to receive a free copy of the full report and its key findings.

We hope you can find the time to take part and thank you in advance for your consideration.
