Relocation of the Terry Stringer sculpture “The World Grasped”
Representatives of the Newmarket Business Association, Newmarket Arts Trust and Auckland Art Week director, Deborah White, met with artist Terry Stringer and his partner Tim, to celebrate the new home for Terry’s bronze sculpture “The World Grasped”.
This magnificent piece of art was for twelve years located on Broadway outside Smith & Caughey’s, but with recent improvements to traffic and pedestrian management, it was necessary for it to moved.
The relocation spot, at the intersection of Broadway & Davis Crescent, the northern entry point to Newmarket, provides a 360 degree perspective of the majestic work.
The sculpture features in an Art Week walking tour, details of which can be found at newmarket.co.nz.
