The Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and passionate Arts and Events Coordinator to join the team at Lopdell House Gallery Off-Site@New Lynn.

With the intention of adding a new vibrancy to the community in New Lynn and West Auckland, as well as further afield, the Arts and Events Coordinator will work closely with business communities, local boards, community groups and other institutions to ramp up the region’s creative dynamic.

The Arts and Events Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the development as well as the day-to-day management of our arts programme, this will include

  • Pop-up events and exhibitions
  • Window displays
  • Curatorial duties

While we operate without a gallery, a full programme of inventive, stimulating and engaging events, pop-up exhibitions and window displays is to be developed by the post-holder. The programme will be forward looking and continually updated and refreshed so that there are always future events in the pipeline.

The post-holder will ensure the projects and overall programme are being delivered on time and to budget, in line with the requirements in funding agreements. Ideally the post-holder will have previous experience of participating in and delivering public sector funded projects/ programmes. The post-holder will inspire the team to generate new ideas, spot synergies and partnership and media opportunities. Naturally we expect sophisticated use of social media as well as appropriate new media skills and a formal qualification in the arts is desirable.

Can you champion creative talent and raise the profile of the Gallery?
Are you a visionary and a strategic thinker, with creative aptitude and the ability to think laterally?
