Southern Institute of Technology’s distance education faculty, SIT2LRN, has the above vacancy for a Programme Manager to ensure the faculty is provided with strong academic leadership, programme management and staff supervision in the Media Arts area. This is a 2 year full-time contract position commencing in January 2013.

The successful applicant will have a relevant postgraduate tertiary qualification in the area of film and/or photography or media culture/communication and preferably also hold an adult education qualification. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrable skills and experience in staff management, customer relationships and academic development. Computing expertise, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite is required, as is the ability to show flexibility in meeting the challenges of this role. Teaching experience would also be advantageous.

As the majority of the work will involve liaising and building relationships with external customers the successful applicant must be able to demonstrate above average communication and written skills, be a smart thinker with the ability to use initiative and provide solutions.
