Auckland Museum is an influential, much-loved organisation at the centre of Auckland’s identity, committed to developing and sharing engaging content through its galleries, exhibition, events and educational programmes.
An opportunity exists for a highly motivated Information & Knowledge Manager to join the Museum at an exciting time of redevelopment and renewal. The role is as varied as the working environment and will require enthusiasm, warmth and flexibility.  You will be responsible for the development and delivery of an organisation-wide Information & Records Management programme designed to ensure that business practices are effectively meeting the Museum’s needs and compliance requirements. In addition, you will be a key member of a project team, delivering a new Information and Records Management solution that focuses on managing the lifecycle of content and has the ability to re-present that content for multiple purposes.
To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Ensure compliance of records with all statutory and legal requirements (including the Public Records Act, 1995) as well as meeting best practice standards as set in ISO 15489
  • Identify and deliver effective management of electronic and hardcopy records and content
  • Provide a strategic direction for Knowledge and Information Management within the organization
  • Provide leadership and advisory services in Knowledge and Information Management
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of the Information and Records Management system framework across the organization to achieve agreed targets and outcomes for the project
  • Contribute to the implementation of change strategies and initiatives to promote user adoption in the new electronic environment
  • Have proven experience in successfully delivering the following key knowledge management tasks and responsibilities:
    • Develop and establish metadata, templates, security settings and structures with business units to ensure effective user uptake of the new EDRMS solution
    • Develop and design site and document templates for use within the EDRMS environment
    • Effectively manage the retention and disposal of business records
    • Maintain the Classification Schedule, Retention and Disposal Schedule, metadata and other recordkeeping frameworks.
    • Act as a cultural change champion for document/record creation, retention, and utilisation.
  • Coordinate the delivery of education and training prior to Go-Live  of the new EDRMS application and refresher training for the first 2 months post Go-Live
