The Faculty’s mission of empowering local, national and international learning communities through leadership and innovation in research and teaching has been realised through the increased capacity of the Faculty to support postgraduate teaching and research, the Faculty’s expanded international reach through new senior academic appointments, and through the promotion of team-based supervision.

The Faculty’s key values of continuous improvement, collaboration and innovation have been demonstrated though numerous academic initiatives in 2012 including: major contributions made through the delivery of Maori-medium education, literacy, leadership, assessment, and secondary student achievement; cross faculty/sector partnerships in Australasia operating as trials for future scale-up contracts with success being reflected in securing a recent $4.2 million Ministry of Education contract to implement the Learning and Change Networks model of teacher professional learning; NZ’s first postgraduate program for secondary teacher education; a trail of Targeted Learning Sessions presaging the introduction of a full First Year Experience Programme in 2013; the intention to introduce Large Class Interactive Learning Model with the aim of creating a more efficient teaching model that retains and strengthens active learning; a commitment to online, mobile and new media technology in learning and teaching, and a continued focus on the importance of research to inform teaching.

To further support the academic goals of the Faculty, to enhance leadership capability aligned to strategic priorities, to enhance career pathways and work satisfaction for professional staff and to increase service effectiveness and efficiency, the structure of the professional staff within the Faculty has been reviewed resulting in a number of new positions including this one.

This position, reporting to the Faculty Manager is responsible for providing leadership, operational management and overall project coordination for the Centre for Educational Design and Development (CEDD) staff, contractors and related projects within the strategic priorities of the University and Faculty.

You will work in collaboration with academic staff and manage services that support creative learning and teaching in diverse communities including online, blended and face-to-face communities, utilising fit-for-purpose online, mobile and new media technologies.Experience in team building and change management would be beneficial.

You will possess strong interpersonal skills, be adaptable, flexible, and highly organised. This role has a high level of responsibility, and a focus on meeting customer needs.
