Estuary Artworks 2013
Uxbridge Creative Centre is proud to announce the Estuary Artworks Competition will be running again in 2013, offering a total of $8,000 in prize money. This exhibition has been supported by Howick Local Board, Auckland Council.
This significant art competition, now into its seventh year, is open to all residents of New Zealand. Our aim, through the artworks, is for visitors to the exhibition to gain awareness of and appreciation for the Estuary's natural, cultural and geological features of regional and national significance and to motivate communities to actively work together for its protection, enhancement and restoration. The judge Rob Garrett will be looking for original, informed and intelligent responses to this theme.
An exhibition of the finalist works will be on display at Uxbridge Creative Centre from March 15 until 26 April 2013 and Invited finalists will also be displayed at the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple 19 May – 21 July 2013.
The winning artwork will be announced at the exhibition opening Thursday March 14 6.30pm. The winner will receive a cash prize of $5,000. Estuary Artworks 2013 is open to 2D and 3D artworks and the only restriction is the works must not measure larger than 1500mm high, long or wide.
