The Wellington Circus Trust was founded in 2005 to facilitate the development of recreational and professional participation in circus arts. It is currently the largest training provider for circus artists in New Zealand, and also provides recreational circus training for all ages from 3yrs old to beyond 60yrs. After many years of sharing facilities the trust has now settled into it's full-time premises at the Circus Hub, 11 Hutchison Road, Newtown. This is an unpaid board position. We seeking someone with an interest in performing arts and/or circus and with the following qualifications or experience. • Accounting experience with a not-for-profit organisation. • Experience with other arts organisations. • Board experience. • Familiarity with Xero online accounting software or similar financial packages. Duties would include. • Advising CEO on financial matters. • Assisting CEO, Director and Chair with developing annual budgets. • Advising Chair and board members on financial matters. • Attending board meetings. • Assisting CEO with end of financial year tax obligations, audits and reporting.

Key skills

Accounting experience with a not-for-profit organisation. Board experience. Familiarity with Xero online accounting software or similar financial package.
