The School of Fine Arts is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and passionate individual to manage the School Office and the Ilam Campus Gallery and related public programmes and events. This sole-charge, newly created position is a unique opportunity for someone interested in working with prominent artists and highly motivated arts students in a stimulating and prestigious academic environment.

The ideal candidate has significant experience (3-5 years) in academic administration as well as in planning and coordinating public programmes and events in the Creative Arts sector. Preference will be given to candidates with a tertiary qualification in arts or events management, arts curatorship or a similar discipline, and to those that have administrative/financial experience as well. Experience in coordinating volunteer effort is desirable, as is demonstrated capacity in writing and editing public communications.

The School of Fine Arts at the University of Canterbury was established in 1882 and is one of the longest established art schools in New Zealand and one of the oldest in the English speaking world. The School offers Bachelors, Honours and Masters in Fine Arts programmes in Design, Film, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, and Sculpture.
