Part-Time Theatre Caretaker (20 Hours)
Join the friendly team at The PumpHouse Theatre to help maintain our historic building and ensure our venue is a welcoming place for people to visit. Key duties include building checks and cleaning, responsibility for fire safety and security and general building maintenance. You'll need some practical skills as your day will often involve anything from installing shelving, to preparing and painting a wall, or repairing a broken seat. This is an active role and may require the use of equipment, ladders and some lifting. Great customer service skills and an interest in theatre and performing arts are essential. The Building Caretaker must be able to liaise with a number of stakeholders (e.g. Auckland Council officers and departments) to report and remedy any issue relating to areas of Auckland Council responsibility. While the normal hours of work will generally be undertaken between Monday and Friday, it may be necessary to undertake cleaning, building checks or assist hirers during the weekend.
