Poetry Competition Judge
Calling on all experienced poets, writers, educators, editors, critics, foodies, journalist ... with an interest and a level of expertise in : poetry, and food.
In 2016 Printable Reality, in association with The New Zealand Poetry Society, is presenting ‘Plate in the Mirror’ - an international literary project that will include a poetry competition, live poetry events, workshops and a publication.
"We are what we eat!
Literally and literary.
Food, food, food … it’s a part of our daily and nightly life.
Food is a central part of our tradition and culture.
sustenance and nutrition…
health and environment…
industry and politics…
safety and addiction…
medicine and poison…
family and friends
love and lust…
and of course poetry.
We cannot live without food.
We cannot live without poetry.
So, let’s put them together - let’s put food into poetry and poetry into food.
It is time to bring a Plate to the Mirror!
Can you change the menu and dish up some tasty, juicy, crispy, verse to our table?"
At the begging of 2016 poets will be invited to submit poetry expressing their thoughts and feelings on the topic. The three best entries will receive awards, and another 40 poems will be selected for performance and publication. All contributing poets will be invited to a prize-giving ceremony and are welcome to present their work to the audience.
We would like to offer the opportunity to an experienced judge ( or two ) to select the best poems from the entries. Successful candidate will be given further instruction and two weeks in March/April 2016, to make their selections. Please email a short bio to: firstname.lastname@example.org - by Friday 15th December 2015 - and tell us why would you make a perfect candidate for this role.
