Museums Wellington, is currently looking for a permanent full-time experienced Collections Supervisor to provide supervision and management over collection, registration and curatorial projects.
Museums Wellington consists of Wellington Museum, Nairn Street Cottage, Cable Car Museum and Space Place. Each of which have their own story to tell.
Working directly with the Experience Wellington Collections and reporting to the Head of Collections and Exhibitions, we are looking for someone who has the ability to supervise, drive and self-manager offsite collection projects to completion. Ideally you will have at least three years’ experience with all facets of Collections management, along with familiarity in handling and housing of a range of collections items.
You will need to be well organised, have clear, effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to have challenging conversations with stakeholders around collection policy, care and management.
We welcome applications from experienced candidates with a relevant tertiary qualification, experience or a background as a as a Registrar or Collections Assistant.
