The New Zealand Comedy Trust was established in 1995 to manage the NZ International Comedy Festival and foster the growth of comedy as a performing art in New Zealand.

The Comedy Fest has since grown into one of the most loved boutique events of its type in the world.

The position of Marketing and Sponsorship Manager is a key part of the management team, and will be a major contributor to the successful delivery of the 2018 NZ International Comedy Festival. The role is responsible for marketing, sponsorship, promotional and effective communications management of the Festival, alongside industry events and development initiatives.

This role will be focused on showcasing the NZ International Comedy Festival brand and comedy programme through design, marketing and publicity. Within the role you'll also be responsible for driving revenue through sponsorship, our marketing channels and Festival ticket sales.

You will be managing a small team and direct reports include a Marketing & Sponsorship Coordinator, a designer and an external publicist. You will also be responsible for stakeholder relationships and delivering partnership objectives for our sponsors.

This role will also give you the opportunity to work closely with comedians and arts industry practitioners to enhance their skills and facilitate the development of their professional brands to build their audiences.

As we are a small team, attitude is key. It's vital that you are a team player who enjoys collaborative decision making, whilst being able to take the lead when required. You need to be flexible and a creative thinker that is able to quickly find effective solutions and get things done. Experience marketing to live audiences is a plus and we'd love you to bring your expertise in digital marketing and social media. A good understanding of NZ's growing comedy industry would be an advantage.

It's a fun festival environment where we work hard but we also have a good time, you'll get to do a wide range things in a day and have a good laugh.

This is a fixed-term role to deliver the 2018 NZ International Comedy Festival.
