Kings Theatre Creative is a creative community space in Kawakawa Bay of Islands. Known as the cultural junction and gateway to the Bay of Islands and Far North district, we are home to the world famous Hundertwasser Toilets and Bay of Islands Vintage Rail.
Last summer we hosted over 6 exhibitions, 100 artists and 60,000 visitors. We are open 5 days/week (7 days over peak) and have been operating successfully for 3 years this December with the thanks of our incredible local talent and volunteers.
We are calling for works for our summer/autumn season, particularly from artists who whakapapa back to Te Taitokerau or are working and practicing in Northland. We also accept artists from throughout Aotearoa who communicate an authentic expression of our people, place, flora, fauna, culture and heritage.
We have two group summer exhibitions open for submissions (deadline 20 Dec and 20 Jan) and we are also calling for proposals for solo or group exhibitions, events, performance and workshops for our annual programme 2018-2019.
How to apply
