Call out for temporary arts activations in the Whau (West Auckland)
Do you have an idea for a creative project or event that you'd like to make happen in the Whau area* between August 2018 and July 2019, but need some funding or advice to help it happen?
If the answer is yes, then get in touch as our annual call for creative proposals is now open.
We’re looking to support temporary creative projects created by and for local people in the Whau.
You can apply for funding for a project in any art form. What’s important is that the project:
meaningfully involves a local community
is led by a local or someone with strong local connections
has an interesting creative idea behind it
and takes place in the Whau Local Board area.
In the past you’ve floated a theatre on the Whau River, created a pop-up arts space in the Avondale markets, combined poetry with food tasting, led workshops, and created exhibitions, poster projects, sound walks, collaborative short films, graffiti jams, jazz concerts and street performances.
We’re excited to see what you will come up with this time.
* the Whau area is New Lynn, Green Bay, Kelston, Rosebank, Waterview, Avondale, New Windsor and Blockhouse Bay.
