The Piano is a charitable trust venue for music and related arts in Christchurch. It has a magnificent Concert Hall seating 330, several smaller venues for intimate concerts, workshops and masterclasses and a number of studios. The Piano host concerts from local, national and international artists. 

The Piano seeks a Concert Engagement Co-ordinator who will be responsible for  two new initiatives at The Piano. The first is a new Monday lunchtime concert series beginning in 2019 and the second is growing the Sunday afternoon Concerts. The Piano is committed to enriching people's lives through providing an accessible world class venue for  music and the arts in Canterbury.  This role will involve reaching out and connecting with schools, community groups and individuals  to enable artistic expression and bring joy, inspiration and entertainment to people’s lives. Initially it is a fixed term role, 10 hours per week, flexible hours. 

 Note the job does not involve hosting the event on the day.

Key responsiblities

  • In collaboration with the Director, develop the Monday concert programme initiative and implement.
  • In collaboration with the Director develop a Sunday afternoon programme  for 2019 and implement .
  • Report to the venue assistant manager for all venue arrangements for the concerts.
