Junior Support Technician
Pukeko Pictures is a Wellington-based independent entertainment production company focused on the development and production of world-class, multi-platform entertainment for a global audience. We are growing, our work has shifted to a more technical focus and we need a full-time, junior support tech to be the human front of our technical operations.
The Pukeko tech team exists to make sure that our creative colleagues are always equipped with the tools they need and that the whole of Pukeko is served in a way that supports our thriving creative culture.
Support technicians know how to use a methodology to work logically through a technical problem solving process, how to speak to the human needs of users and know how to focus on closing off tickets quickly and cleanly.
Pukeko is a multi-platform environment (Mac, Windows and Linux). We implement Linux where we can and Windows only if we have to. We’re all good with OSX. That means you will need to be comfortable in bash fundamentals and know your way around a man page.
You’re good at:
Building and fixing stuff. You build stuff, break it and fix it in your spare time.
Thinking about technology problems from a conceptual perspective
Fostering alliances with users in order to get to the root of problems.
Finding direct but effective routes to solutions.
A CS or related qualification
Experience in a creative industry culture.
Developers: this role isn’t for you as there will be minimal opportunity to use your coding skills, but if you know someone who's great with tech who wants to work towards a management or infrastructure career, let them know about it.
Applications close June 18th
