Assessment Services Administrator – part-time, variable hours

Creative New Zealand, the Arts Council of New Zealand Toi Aotearoa, is the national arts development organisation. We support, develop, and advocate for the arts, for the benefit of all New Zealanders.

We have an interesting opportunity for a part-time Administrator in our Assessment Services team. This small and dedicated team ensures fair, effective and consistent assessment of the many grants applications we receive from artists, groups and arts organisations. This team recruits independent external assessors to deliver assessments for every funding round, and coordinates and runs panel meetings.

As Administrator, you’ll ensure our panel meetings are planned and run smoothly, that accurate minutes are taken and recorded at our assessment panel meetings and that all of our assessors are paid promptly. You’ll interact with a wide range of people by phone, email and in person and will play a key role in delivering great service to our assessors.

The working hours are variable and will average approximately 20 hours per week, with a minimum of 15 hours each week. Occasionally there will be a 2-3 week period of full-time work.

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in a busy PA/Administration role with accountability for a wide variety of tasks
  • Excellent minute-taking skills
  • Ability to prioritise, work efficiently, and complete work accurately
  • A strong customer service ethic
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

In return we offer a positive and collaborative working environment, great work/life balance, and an enviable opportunity to work with and for New Zealand's vibrant arts sector every day.
