But we don't just learn the theory; we create things with our hands.  Our students develop and produce over 100 dance, stage and screen productions each year, collaborating with students from other Unitec disciplines.

As Lecturer - Live Performance and Technical Coordination, you'll teach live performance productions and theatre.  You'll also work closely with students and staff to help them troubleshoot technical issues, providing demonstrations and supervision to students.

You'll collaborate with our academic staff to support student learnings, as well as contributing to technical and staff meetings. 

About you

You'll contribute to the teaching of live performance production, including: producing routines, production management, lighting and sound design, stage management and various other production processes. 

You'll bring a unique combination of specific technical knowledge, coupled with administrative and teaching skills.

If you meet the below criteria, we'd love to hear from you:

  • Hold a Master's degree or higher in a relevant subject matter
  • Proven experience in live performance production with an awareness of the entire production process, specialist knowledge in one or more areas of performance production.
