The 13th Doc Edge Pitch 2019 will take place in Auckland on Friday, 7 June 2019 as part of the Doc Edge Forum.

Doc Edge invites all documentary filmmakers working on a project and seeking financing and/or co-production opportunities to submit their project using the Doc Edge Pitch 2019 Entry Form.

Up to 15 projects will be selected. The selected finalists will be given the opportunity to develop their projects, trailers and pitching skills through a series of Doc Clinics with mentoring from film professionals. The finalists will pitch their project to a panel of domestic and international commissioning editors, distributors, producers, broadcasters and funding agencies.

The winner of the Best Pitch will receive a $15,000 prize package which includes cash, services and mentoring. More details to be announced.

Doc Edge Pitch seeks projects with international appeal, challenging/innovative subject matter and treatment/delivery with co-production potential. Projects that push creative boundaries and/or have multi-platform potential are highly encouraged.

Applications are open for the following categories:
- Feature (over 40’) festival documentary
- Television documentary series
- Short (up to 39’) festival documentary

Doc Edge Pitch is looking for fresh and innovative projects that:
• Are in late development or early pre-production
• Are contemporary with diverse characters and voices

• Have a broad audience appeal and are globally relevant
• Are led by actuality/action rather than interviews/talking heads
• Champion social justice and/or social change with purpose and impact
