FHE Galleries has a strong focus on uniquely New Zealand & Pacific art and the relationship between historical traditions and contemporary practice. An interest in history and knowledge of both Maori and Pacific culture would be an advantage.
This role will provide an opportunity to shadow both the Gallery Director and Gallery Manager, gain an overview of the day to day running of the gallery and develop a range of practical and administrative skills. It will involve general administrative duties, art handling, assisting with installation & de-installation, exhibitions, documenting and cataloguing processes, preparing mail-outs, assisting with exhibition openings and the Auckland Art Fair 2019.
You will be personable, well presented and enjoy interacting with a wide range of people. This is an entry-level position that will open doors to a wide range of opportunities within the arts industry.
This is an unpaid, fixed-term position. A minimum commitment of 2 days p/w for a 3 month period is required.
