School of English and Media Studies
The School of English and Media Studies invites applications for the position of Senior Tutor in Creative Writing. We are looking for a dynamic teacher who can cover one or more of the following areas at our Wellington campus and/or online via distance mode: creative non-fiction, fiction, cross-media creative processes, introduction to creative writing.
The position will be on a part-year, part-time (0.5 FTE/18.75 hrs) fixed term basis, starting in late June 2019, and running through 2020. Candidates seeking a flexible workload are encouraged to apply.
The appointee will undertake all of the teaching and assessment activities for assigned campus and/or distance workshop groups and will be supported by Course Coordinators involved in the teaching of courses in other locations.
The successful applicant(s) will have good teaching skills, relevant subject knowledge, a strong publishing record, the ability to develop rapport with students, and a sound understanding of the creative writing process. An advanced qualification in Creative Writing or a closely related field is desirable. Previous experience in University tutoring and use of a learning management system (in particular Moodle) would be an advantage.
