Circability is a small and busy charitable trust doing big things. We deliver circus classes, community events and workshops for all ages and abilities across the Auckland region and beyond, using circus as an tool for developing personal confidence and physical literacy, for connecting people and sharing joy. A particular focus of our work is developing inclusion programmes for people with disabilities - using circus as an agent for social change. We’re looking for someone exceptional to join our team in an important leadership role as we grow as an organisation and develop new youth-focused programmes across Northland and Auckland.
This position is for three months part-time May - July 2019, but with the potential, for the right person, to grow into a full-time role.
The Interim General Manager will work closely with the Director to oversee day-to-day operations, manage budgets, guide implementation of policy and process in line with identified strategic goals, coordinate marketing and publicity, ensure ongoing evaluation of programmes, work with the Funding Coordinator to prepare funding applications, and ensure reporting requirements for funders and programme partners are met. A key outcome of this role is to identify the scope and set groundwork for establishing a full-time General Management role this year
The right candidate will be passionate about working in the community/arts sector, someone who values diversity in people and of experience, is experienced with project management and budgeting/financial planning, has outstanding organisational and communication skills, can think strategically and problem-solve, is prepared to be hands on and ‘hit the ground running’. Proven experience in a General Manager or similar leadership role is essential.
